Our Catholic school is part of the Catholic Church. We work in partnership with our local parish and priests in order to enrich the spiritual life of the students, staff and families of our school, especially through the celebration of the Sacraments.
At Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Randwick, we work closely with the Parish, providing opportunities for the school community to grow in faith and be witnesses of Christ. The school acknowledges and firmly believes in the Church’s teachings that parents are the primary educators of their children in their faith. The Sacramental programs are parish based where families are encouraged to take an active role in their child’s faith journey and participate in formation activities such as Information evenings and retreats held at school. The Sacrament of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are celebrated in Year 3 followed by the Sacrament of Confirmation in Year 6. To ensure that our students’ faith is formed with a foundation of a rich prayer life, we work closely with the parish priest to include regular whole school Mass celebrations and liturgies. Other opportunities for our students to participate in the parish prayer life is attending Midday Mass and monthly Family Mass with the parish congregation.
