Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.
At Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Randwick, we endeavour to equip our students to build an awareness of the needs in our community and the broader church community, making a difference by participating in a range of fundraising and outreach initiatives. In the spirit of our school’s motto, ‘Strength and Gentleness‘ and the MSC charism – to be on earth the heart of Jesus, students are involved in The Pope Francis Award Program, fundraising initiatives such as Socktober, Mission Day, Crazy Sock Day and Pyama’s Day in support of charity agents such as Caritas, St Vincent de Paul Society, CatholicCare, Catholic Mission and much more. Parents are encouraged to get involved with outreach opportunities which are facilitated by our Family Educator.
